In addition to complying with all applicable legal requirements, Ocean Certification recognises our duty to care for the environment. We are dedicated to the continuous improvement of our environmental performance through the following commitments:

• To improve our environmental performance by continuing to comply with ISO 17021 and to implement the principles of ISO 14001
• To reduce the environmental effect of our activities to a practicable minimum by the prevention of pollution, the reduction of waste and the efficient use of resources
• To assess and reduce the impact of our operations on local biodiversity and implement appropriate impact reduction strategies
• To continue to develop a sense of environmental responsibility amongst staff and contractors
• To develop services that meet the ever-changing needs of the environment
• To promote the efficient use of energy

Environmental Compliance Policy - Statement

As a business whose prime activity is the audit and certification of management systems, Ocean Certification must demonstrate high standards of performance in the way that we ensure safety and protect the environment. We have a special obligation to assure that we operate in a manner that safeguards both the public and the environment.

As part of this obligation we aim to:

• Reduce the use of energy
• Reduce the use of wate
• Reduce the generation of waste

Our goal is to achieve excellent environmental performance throughout Ocean Certification. We recognise that although important, compliance with environmental regulations is not enough on its own to ensure excellent practice and we hold ourselves to a higher standard of performance.
