Martin Thornley

Chief Executive Officer

Martin graduated in Chemical Technology, and then spent 25 years working for British Gas in a variety of senior management roles. He was the Regional Safety Advisor for BG Northern, and also a specialist auditor performing environmental assessments on BG’s national HQ sites. After his time in the gas industry Martin joined a consultancy organisation, where he specialised in offering consultancy and training services for Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems. He is now the CEO of Ocean Certification and a Lead Auditor for all three systems

Richard O'Neill

Operations Director

Richard joined the team at Ocean Certification at the beginning of 2008 after a long and successful career in the gas distribution / utilities industry. During that time he held a number of senior and operations management posts.

Having had first hand experience of successfully achieving certification of management systems, Richard now manages the operations at Ocean with a great deal of understanding and customer focus.

Malcolm Craighead

Quality Manager

Malcolm has been a key part of the Ocean team since joining as Quality Manager in 2007. This follows 30 years continuous service in the Paper and Packaging sector as Total Quality Management (T.Q.M) Director for Corenso UK Ltd, where he successfully guided the company to BRC / IOP food packaging accreditation.

Malcolm achieved his PG Dip T.Q.M in 1994 and has since been heavily involved in writing, implementing and running Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety management systems. Malcolm also contributed to the development of ISO 11093 parts 1-9 that are still in use today.

Mutsuko Fujine

Director : Country Manager - Japan

Mutsuko has worked for a number of major international Japanese companies, including the Sony Corporation. In 2001 She was one of Ocean’s founding partners. Prior to this she gained significant experience of Quality, Environment and Health & Safety management systems, working initially as a translator and then as a lead tutor in the delivery of approved training courses. Mutsuko then moved into auditing, and is now Ocean’s Country Manager in Japan, where she undertakes client assessments in all 3 management systems.
